Hannah's 3rd Birthday Party

My niece had a Sweet Shoppe birthday and it turned out so cute. Her mom really went all out and she did a great job on it.

Flower/Butterfly Cake

Birthday cake made for a lady that loves gardening and flowers. The butterfly is made out of gumpaste and then hand painted. I don't think it really "goes" because the flowers are a little cartoony and the butterfly is more life like, but the birthday girl liked it and that's all that matters right?

50th Birthday Cake

I was asked to make a birthday cake for a lady at work that has a little wild side. She's not really girly, so I went a little more rock and roll with this one. I think it turned out really cute. The zebra stripes and roses are fondant and the 50 and candles were made out of gum paste and I hand painted them. Hope she enjoys it. :)

Ken's Birthday

One of the detectives at work share a birthday with my BFF and BIL. He loves Black Forest cake and after making it for him I think it might take over first place as my favorite cake. Man was it nummy num and easy to boot.

Easy Black Forest Cake

1 package dark chocolate fudge cake mix
1 can of cherry pie filling
1 to 1 1/2 tubs of Cool Whip
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 jar of hot fudge topping
maraschino cherries for garnish

Mix the chocolate cake mix together (as directed on package) and add in half of the pie filling and the almond extract. Bake according to directions. I had left over cream cheese icing but if you don't have any just ice cake with Cool Whip after the cakes have cooled completely. Then add the other half of the pie filling to the top and drizzle hot fudge on top. Add maraschino cherries if desired. Then eat it up! If you have leftovers keep refrigerated.

Ladybug Cake

A little girl named Cailyn is turning 4 this weekend and I was asked to make her a lady bug cake. Her mom found a picture on the Internet of a cake she liked and asked if I could make one like it, and here it is:
I added the little flowers and the lady bug is a little different from the original cake.

Poppy Birthday Cake

My mother and best customer asked me to make a cake for a dear friend's birthday. She didn't really give me a direction, she just said to make it pretty. Here's what I came up with. Originally I was going for a bright red poppy but somewhere it kind of went into a deep mauve color. I still think it's pretty.

Linda's Birthday Cake

Cake made for a good friend of my mom's. Her hobbies are sewing and cooking and since her birthday is in February I gave it a little Valentines feel. Cherry chip cake with vanilla icing and clay topper.
